Notas: Energy generation harms environment, improve efficiency when energy is used is the less expensive way of preserving it. The residential sector has an important energy saving potential as a whole and, in particular, water supply systems in buildings. However, profitability is mandatory before investing in efficiency of equipment improving, despite of energy potential saving to be obtained. Therefore, this paper analyzes the impact of the building water supply systems reforms on energy consumption and its financial and economic profitability, both a representative sample and the consolidated city of Zaragoza. Results show how profits to be obtained depend on building’s water supply systems characteristics.
