Se puede dividir en dos etapas. La primera comienza con el golpe de Estado del 1 de septiembre de 1969, con el que Gadafi accede al poder, y, guiado por el proyecto panárabe, llega hasta 1977. Una vez que éste se frustra, el líder beduino desarrolla su propio modelo político, la Tercera Teoría Universal, que se materializará dos años después con la instauración de la Yamahiriya, un régimen sui géneris que se traduciría en “Estado de las masas”. Este sistema, que regiría Libia hasta su violenta deposición en 2011, experimentó grandes cambios a lo largo de sus 34 años de vida, muchos de ellos, propiciados por la tensa relación entre la escena internacional y los caprichosos designios de su líder. The present work aims to offer an historical approach to the interesting, but still little studied, government of Gaddafi on the desert Libya between 1969 and 2011. It can be divided into two stages. The first begins with the coup d'etat of September 1, 1969, with which Gaddafi comes to power, and, guided by the pan-Arab project, reaches 1977. Once this is thwarted, the Bedouin leader develops his own political model, the Third Universal Theory, which will materialize two years later with the establishment of the Yamahiriya, a sui generis regime that would translate into "State of the masses".
