Este trabajo plantea una revisión crítica del concepto de Nation Building / State Building a través del análisis del desarrollo de la misión llevada a cabo en Iraq entre los años 2003 y 2011, centrándose en los aspectos del debate conceptual, la aplicación del concepto en sí y la necesidad de evolución del mismo hacia las llamadas Operaciones de Estabilización y Reconstrucción.
