Este trabajo fin de máster es un estudio sobre el tiempo en la novela, La muerte de Artemio Cruz, del escritor mexicano Carlos Fuentes. El estudio se desarrolla en tres apartados que son: En primer lugar, la relación del escritor con la novela latinoamericana; en segundo lugar, las influencias e innovaciones en la obra y en tercer lugar, el desarrollo específico del tiempo en sus aspectos narrativo, histórico y mítico.
