This collection includes Jean Laurent's personal holdings. Jean Laurent was one of the most important photographers who worked in Spain in the 19th century. Established in Madrid in 1843, he began to take an interest in photography in 1855, taking panoramic views of cities, landscapes, monuments, public works and works of art on the Iberian Peninsula; as well as portraying personalities and popular types.
