One, Two, Three: a political satire and the Cold War.

Abstract: Las sátiras políticas suelen ser películas con una alta carga política con un objetivo, opinar acerca de un aspecto público y tratar de influencia al espectador para que acepte las ideas sugeridas en ellas. Y este es el caso de la película One, Two, Three (1961). Esta película, que trata sobre la guerra fría y el conflicto entre capitalismo y comunismo, insinúa una serie de ideas con dos objetivos principales. Primero, degradar al comunismo y criticas esta ideología, mayormente soviética, a través de la comedia y de ridiculizar dicha ideología. Y segundo, apoyar al capitalismo, y por lo tanto, al país asociado a él, los Estados Unidos. Este TFG comentará estas ideas y como se consiguen en esta sátira política de Billy Wilder.
Political satires tend to be politically charged films with one objective, to give an opinion about a public aspect and try to influence the spectators to accepts the ideas implied in them. And this is the case of the comedy One, Two, Three (1961). This film, which deals with the Cold War and the battle between capitalism and communism, insinuates a series of ideas consisting of two main objectives. Firstly, to taunt communism and to criticise this, mainly soviet ideology through comedy and mocking. Secondly, to support capitalism, and therefore, the country associated with it, the United States. The dissertation will comment on this idea and how it is accomplished in this Billy Wilder's political satire.
