Within this context of digital transformation and sustainable finance, Fintech has emerged as an alternative to traditional financial institutions. This paper, through a literature review and case study approach, analyzes the relationship between Fintech and sustain-ability, and the different areas of collaboration between Fintech and sustainable finance, from both a theoretical and descriptive perspective, while giving specific examples of current technological platforms. Additionally, in this paper, two Fintech initiatives (Clarity AI and Pensumo) are described, as well as several proposals to improve the detection of greenwashing and other deceptive behavior by firms. The results lead to the conclusion that sustainable finance and Fintech have many aspects in common, and that Fintech can make financial businesses more sustainable overall by promoting green finance. Furthermore, this paper highlights the importance of European and global regulation, mainly from the perspective of consumer protection. 000112026 540__ $$9info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess$$aby$$uhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/es/ 000112026 590__ $$a3.889$$b2021 000112026 592__ $$a0.664$$b2021 000112026 594__ $$a5.0$$b2021 000112026 591__ $$aENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES$$b57 / 128 = 0.445$$c2021$$dQ2$$eT2 000112026 593__ $$aEnergy Engineering and Power Technology$$c2021$$dQ1 000112026 591__ $$aENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES$$b133 / 279 = 0.477$$c2021$$dQ2$$eT2 000112026 593__ $$aRenewable Energy, Sustainability and the Environment$$c2021$$dQ1 000112026 591__ $$aGREEN & SUSTAINABLE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY$$b35 / 47 = 0.745$$c2021$$dQ3$$eT3 000112026 593__ $$aManagement, Monitoring, Policy and Law$$c2021$$dQ1 000112026 591__ $$aGREEN & SUSTAINABLE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY$$b7 / 9 = 0.778$$c2021$$dQ4$$eT3 000112026 593__ $$aGeography, Planning and Development$$c2021$$dQ1 000112026 655_4 $$ainfo:eu-repo/semantics/article$$vinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion 000112026 700__ $$0(orcid)0000-0002-3816-9747$$aFerruz Agudo, L.$$uUniversidad de Zaragoza 000112026 7102_ $$14002$$2230$$aUniversidad de Zaragoza$$bDpto.
