We compare the Maximum Likelihood and centred isotonic regression estimators of the target dose and we discuss several performance criteria to assess inferential precision, the amount of toxicity exposure and the trade-off between them for a set of some exemplary adaptive designs. We compare these designs using graphical tools. Several scenarios are considered using simulation, including the use of several start-up rules, the change of slope of the dose-toxicity function at the target dose and also different theoretical models, as logistic, normal or skew-normal distribution functions. 000112141 536__ $$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/MTM2014-53340-P$$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/MTM2016-77015-R 000112141 540__ $$9info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess$$aby$$uhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/es/ 000112141 590__ $$a2.217$$b2020 000112141 591__ $$aSTATISTICS & PROBABILITY$$b38 / 125 = 0.304$$c2020$$dQ2$$eT1 000112141 592__ $$a1.05$$b2020 000112141 593__ $$aStatistics, Probability and Uncertainty$$c2020$$dQ2 000112141 593__ $$aStatistics and Probability$$c2020$$dQ2 000112141 655_4 $$ainfo:eu-repo/semantics/article$$vinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion 000112141 700__ $$aMoler, José 000112141 700__ $$0(orcid)0000-0003-2203-655X$$aPlo, Fernando$$uUniversidad de Zaragoza 000112141 7102_ $$12007$$2265$$aUniversidad de Zaragoza$$bDpto.
