000120119 5203_ $$aEn el transcurso de su labor de recuperación y puesta en valor del patrimonio fotográfico histórico de nuestra comunidad, desde el proyecto de investigación Aragón Photo, se ha rescatado el retrato al daguerrotipo del que fuera obispo auxiliar de Zaragoza y obispo diocesano de Huesca, Mariano Supervía Lostalé (Tauste, 1835 - Huesca, 1918). Se trata de un daguerrotipo inédito, datado hacia 1859, que se constituye en el segundo y más importante testimonio material de esta técnica fotográfica pionera hallado en Aragón hasta el momento. Aunque se desconoce la autoría del fotógrafo o estudio fotográfico local en el que fue tomado dicho retrato, las investigaciones sobre las marcas a punzón sobre la placa de cobre, bañada en plata, han evidenciado su relación con el fabricante de placas parisino Alexis Gaudin.
In the course of our work to recover and enhance the photographic heritage of our community, the research project Aragón Photo has rescued the portrait of the daguerreotype of Mariano Supervía Lostalé ( Tauste, 1835 - Huesca, 1918), who was auxiliary bishop of Zaragoza and diocesan bishop of Huesca. It is an unpublished daguerreotype, dated around 1859, which constitutes the second and most important material testimony of this pioneering photographic technique found in Aragon to date. Although the authorship of the photographer or local photographic studio in which this portrait was taken is unknown, investigations into the punch hallmarks on the silver-plated copper plate have evidenced his relationship with the Parisian plate maker Alexis Gaudin.
