000120516 520__ $$aLa traducción de una obra literaria es un proceso complejo en el que se unen varios factores y dan lugar a un texto traducido con una esencia independiente del texto original. Las estrategias y técnicas de traducción empleadas, las decisiones del traductor, el objetivo de la traducción, si es una adaptación para un público especifico, por ejemplo, o el contexto en el que la obra ha sido creada y traducida son elementos que influyen en el proceso de traducción. En consecuencia, se puede decir que dos traducciones de la misma obra pueden diferir lingüística y culturalmente del texto original y del texto ajeno. En este trabajo se realiza un análisis contrastivo de dos traducciones de “El gato negro” de Edgar Allan Poe, con el objetivo de comprobar la influencia de los factores previamente mencionados en el proceso de traducción y como se reflejan las diferencias en ambas versiones traducidas del texto (1983 y 2020).<br />Abstract:<br />The translation of a literary work is a complex process in which various factors come together and give rise to a target text that has its own essence independently of the source text. The translation strategies and techniques employed, the decisions made by the translator, the purpose of the translation - if it is an adaptation for a specific audience, for example - or the context in which the work was created and translated are all elements that influence the translating process. Consequently, it can be said that two translations of the same work may differ linguistically and culturally both from the original work and from each other. In this paper, a contrastive analysis of two translations of Edgar Allan Poe's The Black Cat is carried out with the aim of testing the influence of the above-mentioned factors on the translational process and how the differences are reflected in the target texts of both versions (1983 and 2020).<br />
