regarding the social-emotional development of the victim,
especially for those who have suffered child sexual abuse.
Art therapy is introduced as a support tool that, together
with social work, may prove to be a major aid in the
detection of child abuse, as well as a beneficial resource
in therapies for the victim’s social-emotional
development, wellbeing and autonomy. To that effect,
bibliographic information has been compiled, an interview
has been carried out, and testimonies of other
professionals, who have obtained positive results in the
development of victims of child sexual abuse through art
therapy, have been explained. The purpose of this project
is to create a link between art, the social, therapy and
the emotions experienced by both the practitioner and the
individual being treated, so as to achieve the victim’s
welfare. Art is the freedom of the soul in its highest
