000127892 5203_ $$aMotherhood as the key to femininity did not appear until the eighteenth century, and it was not until the beginning of the twentieth century, together with the appearance of mass media, that the ideal of the "perfect mother" began to spread through the model of intensive mothering. The main objective of this work is to analyse, from a gender perspective, the messages and discourses on how to be a mother that are transmitted through Facebook. For this, two Spanish Facebook pages that discuss motherhood, Pequefelicidad and Malasmadres, have been selected. A total of 30 publications on these pages between the months of January and March 2019 have been analysed, and the results reveal that the intensive mothering model continues to be reproduced, despite progress in gender equality.
La maternidad como clave de la feminidad no apareció hasta el siglo XVIII, y no fue hasta principios del siglo XX, junto con la aparición de los medios de comunicación, cuando el ideal de la “madre perfecta” comenzó a difundirse a través del modelo de maternidad intensiva. El principal objetivo de este trabajo es analizar, desde una perspectiva de género, los mensajes y discursos sobre cómo ser madre que se transmiten a través de Facebook. Para ello se han seleccionado dos páginas españolas de Facebook que hablan de maternidad, Pequefelicidad y Malasmadres . Se han analizado un total de 30 publicaciones en estas páginas entre los meses de enero y marzo de 2019, y los resultados revelan que el modelo de maternidad intensiva sigue reproduciéndose, a pesar de los avances en igualdad de género.
