000129960 5203_ $$aEsta investigación pretende estudiar la pervivencia de autores latinos en la literatura en lengua inglesa del siglo XX y XXI a través del acercamiento a la obra de Catulo. De esta manera, se analizará el valor de la tradición clásica y su reflejo en las sociedades de lengua inglesa, poniendo el acento en Inglaterra y Estados Unidos que dará paso a la ejemplificación en diferentes ámbitos, como el académico, la enseñanza media o el cultural. Este análisis enmarcará el estudio central de este proyecto, es decir, la presencia de tópicos y referentes de la poética de Catulo en torno a diferentes temáticas presentes en autores y autoras que nos permitirán considerar la relevancia y la universalización de sus poemas a modo de conclusiones.
This research studys the survival of Latin authors in the English literature of the 20th and 21st centuries through an
approach to the work of Catullus. For this purpose, the value of the classical tradition and its reflection in English-speaking societies will be analyzed, focusing on England and the United States, which will lead to exemplification in different areas, such as academic environment, secondary education or culture. This analysis will frame the central study of this project, that is, the presence of topics and references of the poetry of Catullus about different thematics present in authors that will allow us to consider the relevance and the universalization of his poems as conclusions.
