Here we describe an unprecedented isolation of a series of tetramethyl-dihydroxazole tellurium hexachloride salts whose structure has been indentified and characterised with several techniques including X-ray crystallography. The novelty resides on the role of tellurium that mediate the cyclisation of 1,1,2,2-tetramethylethylene into duhydroxazole in the presence of nitriles. Reaction mechanism, physiological stability and preliminary cytotoxicity results are discussed.</dc:description><dc:date>2023</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/131598</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1039/d3nj03186a</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/131598</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:131598</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/DGA/E42-23R</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MCIU-AEI-FEDER/PID2021-122406NB-I00</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>NEW JOURNAL OF CHEMISTRY 47, 39 (2023), 18485-18491</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>All rights reserved</dc:rights><dc:rights>http://www.europeana.eu/rights/rr-f/</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
