Notas: Sport has become in recent times the civilized substitute for war. This fact is reflected in the sport chronicles language, characterized by the frequent use of terms of the semantic field of war. The following study, by means of meticulous analysis of more than six hundred football chronicles published by the national sport newspapers Marca, As and Mundo Deportivo in April and May 2013, shows it and searches the reasons of this phenomenon in the world of football.
