Geología y deformación en el cabalgamiento de San Felices(Huesca)

Resumen: The Sierras Exteriores are formed by a system of thrust sheets and cover folds, rooted in the South Pyrenean frontal thrust. In its southern part they appear fossilized by synorogenic deposits of the foreland basin (Ebro Basin) from the Oligocene to the Miocene time. The San Felices thust sheet (Agüero, Huesca) is the westernmost of these thrusts. The local stratigraphy encompassing rocks from Triassic, Jurassic, Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene, their location and their relationship with the materials of the footwall are studied. In particular, a predominance of brittle behavior is observed in the deformation of the materials involved in the formation of cataclasites, especially in the dolomites and to a lesser extent in the limestones (Cretaceous – Eocene). The study of the rocks has been carried out after thin section and polished sections observations of ~100 samples. The access to new outcrops and the new detail mapping allows to describe two duplex horse structures, one of which is a novelty of this work. It is interpreted as a continuation of the Salás horse, described in previous studies. In addition, some variations in the interpretation of the structure are proposed (i.e. new mapped faults). Faults and striae in three sites complete the study of the deformation, together with the analyses of the Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) carried out in two sites, which also provides information about the orientation distribution of grains related to the compression in the San Felices thrust shee
