000135829 5203_ $$aIn this paper the total positivity of the Gramian (mass) matrices of q-Bernstein bases is analyzed. Furthermore, we provide an efficient method to obtain a bidiagonal decomposition of these mass matrices allowing us to calculate their singular values and inverses to high relative accuracy. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the high accuracy of the performed computations using the proposed decompositions.
