Resumen: This dissertation is based on a hypothetical translation brief of a journalistic article from The Guardian into Spanish, to be published in El Diario.es, a digital newspaper in Spain.
The main aim has been to demonstrate that the student has been able to search for problems on this translation, as well as being able to solve them with the translation strategies that I portray in this dissertation.
In addition the task itself has primarily been to do the adequate research and documentation necessary to not only be faithful to the source text (The Guardian) but also using the specific terminology, grammar, structures, etc. of the target language as well as of the digital newspaper.
Through different scholars I have been able to portray my ideas on this dissertation as well as being able to learn that in this type of work, a revision step is key before doing the final version of a translation. This revision has also allowed me to detect the problems that I have encountered throughout my process of translating as well as to realise that errors, although it can happen, are not the same thing as inadequacies.
All in all, what I have tried to show in this work is that a translation process requires doing several steps through it as well as at the time of finishing it, so that the final version has all the suitable features and it is presented as if was going to be published in El Diario.es.
