Based on in-depth reading and study of the formal and thematic aspects of the novel, as well as the historical and literary contextualisation of the author and her work in what is considered ‘post-national’ literature, the purpose is to analyse how those financial crises have influenced young Irish society and how certain situations of precariousness and vulnerability have contributed to constructing and solidifying the identities of each of the characters in Rooney’s novel.<br />RESUMEN<br />Este proyecto final de grado tiene como objetivo analizar la representación de la vulnerabilidad y la precariedad en la novela "Normal People" (2018) de Sally Rooney a través de sus protagonistas, Connell Waldron y Marianne Sheridan, que sufren la incertidumbre sobre el futuro y la falta de identidad tan características de la sociedad irlandesa en los años posteriores al boom económico que marcó la década de 1990 y sus posteriores crisis.
