Janus is a massively parallel architecture, based on reconfigurable FPGA nodes; it offers two orders of magnitude better performance than commodity systems for spin glass applications. The first generation Janus machine has been operational since early 2008; we are currently developing a new generation, that will be on line in early 2013. In this paper we present the Janus architecture, describe both implementations and compare their performances with those of commodity systems.</dc:description><dc:date>2013</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/152027</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1007/978-3-642-36949-0_61</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/152027</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:152027</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/EC/FP7/247328/EU/Critical Phenomena in Random Systems/CRIPHERASY</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MEC/FIS2006-08533</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MEC/FPA2004-02602</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/FIS2007-60977</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/FIS2009-12648-C03-02</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/FIS2010-16587</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/TEC2007-64188</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/TEC2010-19207</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>Lecture Notes in Computer Science 7640 (2013), 528-537</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>All rights reserved</dc:rights><dc:rights>http://www.europeana.eu/rights/rr-f/</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
