000152576 520__ $$aThis study concerns the geology of the surroundings of Segura de los Baños, a village located in the region of Cuencas Mineras, in the province of Teruel, Aragón. This area is geologically located on the Montalbán Anticline and the Montalbán basin, a structure belonging to the Aragonese Branch of the Iberian Range. The objectives of this study are to determinate the geophysical characteristics of the geological units and the geometry at depth of the different geological units, according to the anomalies obtained from the geophysical techniques.<br />The Iberian Range is an important geological feature formed in the northeastern part of the Iberian Peninsula as a result of a compressive stress stage during the Alpine Orogeny that deformed the Cretaceous and earlier sediments deposited in extensional basins. The Paleozoic sediments had already been deformed by the Variscan Orogeny.<br />The structure of this sector of the Iberian Range has been studied using two geophysical methods, magnetic prospecting and gravimetry. The data were processed applying different corrections (free-air, topographic, Bouguer, regional trend, etc…). Software such as GemLink, Oasis and Gravmaster, were used for processing and programs GravMag and Acycle for the interpretation of results. <br />In addition, from the magnetic data processed by means of the Acycle program, the changes of the magnetic field along the stratigraphic column have been related to sedimentary cyclicity. The possible deposition rates of the Cretaceous-Cenozoic materials have been calculated and its relation with Milankovitch cycles has been tested.<br /><br />
