000161095 5203_ $$aEl artículo que a continuación se presenta muestra las aspiraciones esenciales del pensamiento estético de Herbert Marcuse, de las cuales, las más relevantes se relacionan, por un lado, con su deseo de enfatizar que el arte puede llegar a ser un elemento subversivo capaz de generar una sensibilidad y racionalidad distinta a la que se produce en las sociedades represivas y, por otro, con su caracterización de que el arte es la única posibilidad de liberar las potencialidades reprimidas de los hombres y, a la vez, la última apuesta para emancipar a la humanidad que aún hoy se encuentra sometida a la racionalidad represiva del sistema capitalista. En ese sentido, el arte, desde la visión de Marcuse, podría ser el último eslabón débil que conecta el presente con la esperanza del futuro.
The article presented below shows the essential aspirations of Herbert Marcuse’s aesthetic thought, of which the most relevant are related, on the one hand, to his desire to emphasize that art can become a subversive element capable of generating a sensitivity and rationality different from that produced in repressive societies and, on the other, with its characterization that art is the only possibility of releasing the repressed potentialities of men and, at the same time, the last bet to emancipate humanity that even today It is subject to the repressive rationality of the capitalist system. In that sense, art, from Marcuse’s vision, could be the last weak link that connects the present with the hope of the future.
