The crystal structure of 1 is formed by zig-zag chains in which the Cu(II) atoms are linked by bridging PDOA2- ligands in a bis(monodentate) fashion via carboxylate oxygen donor atoms. The Cu(II) central atom is penta-coordinated by five oxygen atoms from two different PDOA2- ligands and three oxygen atoms of the aqua ligands yielding an O2O3 donor set. Hydrogen bonds of the O-H···O type afford a 2D supramolecular structure with short distances of 4.8562(7) and 5.1431(7) Å between the Cu(II) atoms. DC magnetic studies in the temperature range 2 – 300 K revealed antiferromagnetic exchange interactions via hydrogen bonds which were corroborated by theoretical calculations.</dc:description><dc:date>2025</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/162967</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1016/j.molstruc.2025.143985</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/162967</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:162967</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/DGA/E11-23R</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/PID2021-124880NB-I00</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>JOURNAL OF MOLECULAR STRUCTURE 1350, Part 1 (2025), 143985 [9 p.]</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>by-nc-nd</dc:rights><dc:rights>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/deed.es</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/embargoedAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
