Stobaeus attributes the information to Diogenes of Sinope, with a clearly moralizing intention. The text has been fully ignored by historiography, and therefore its assessment within the corpus of information referring to this peculiar form of burial in Celtiberia is relevant. El fragmento IV. 55, 11 de la Antología (Ἀνθολόγιιον) de Juan Estobeo alude al ritual funerario de exposición de los cadáveres: a los perros entre los hircanos y a los buitres entre los celtíberos —en hipótesis que proponemos—, atribuyendo el autor de Estobia la noticia a Diógenes El Cínico, con claro ánimo moralizante.
