The VCSEL, which has a wavelength of 1539.84 nm, has been characterized both statically and dynamically. The sensitivity of a single photodiode heterodyne receiver using the proposed 2.5 Gb/s VCSEL transmitter is -39.5 dBm. Thus, this transmitter is an extremely cost-effective solution for future access networks.</dc:description><dc:date>2017</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/167837</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1364/OL.42.000583</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/167837</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:167837</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MICINN/TEC2014-59583-C2-1-R</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/TEC2013-46917-C2-2-R</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/UZ/CUD2013-05</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>Optics Letters 42, 3 (2017), 583-586</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>All rights reserved</dc:rights><dc:rights>http://www.europeana.eu/rights/rr-f/</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
