Various cutaneous manifestations have been described throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many of which are common to other viral infections (Fig. 1a).1 Granuloma annulare (GA) can be triggered by several causes, such as diabetes mellitus, trauma, medications, vaccinations or viral infections. Different viruses have been identified as triggers, such as the Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), HIV and hepatitis B and C. Nonetheless, SARS-CoV-2 has not been identified as a trigger for GA. A 53-year-old female worker in a care home with COVID-19 cases, presented with an annular lesion on the second finger of her left hand (non-dominant hand) and a papule on the knuckle of the same finger (Fig. 1b). Coinciding with the appearance of the lesions, the patient presented with anosmia, dysgeusia and cephalalgia.
