In the cases we examined a large number of children were evicted from their homes, with a high inherent risk of housing-related neglect. We assessed the main factors behind this risk of child neglect amongst families caught up in judicial eviction proceedings. This was done via a multivariant statistical analysis involving multiple correspondences and dimension reduction. The results show that certain socioeconomic characteristics of the families are risk factors to lose their home. The main risk factors include the employment situation of the main provider and the type of family. These factors proved much more significant than other variables such as nationality or living above or below the poverty line. Child benefit payments seemed to have little impact in terms of preventing or mitigating the effects on children of losing their home.</dc:description><dc:date>2020</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/169393</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1016/j.childyouth.2020.105021</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/169393</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:169393</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/DGA-FEDER/S28-17R</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>Children and Youth Services Review 114 (2020), 105021 [9 pp.]</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>by-nc-nd</dc:rights><dc:rights>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/deed.es</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
