note = "The student opposition to Franco Regime was fundamental in
the progressive erosion of the dictatorship. Zaragoza,
eternal bridge between Madrid and Barcelona, was also the
site of the activities of the different student groups of
the opposition to the Franco Regime. After a first phase of
rule of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE), in the 1970s
the most important student organizations in the Aragonese
campus were: the Comités de Estudiantes Revolucionarios de
Zaragoza (Revolutionary Students Committees of Zaragoza)
and Comités de Estudiantes (Student Committees). Its
members —and the rest of involved students— were the
protagonists of the various events of mobilization: from
the great student strike of 1972 to the first manifestation
of the Autonomy of Aragón in 1978. Each student unions had
their strategies and targets, converging in some, as the
demand for freedom and amnesty. Anyway, its activity serves
to write the history of the role of the Ebro’s capital
town in the context of the national student opposition to
Franco Regime, as well as the trace left by the struggle in
the faculties in the local history of Zaragoza.",
