Notas: The threat ageing poses to pay-as-you-go pension systems, as well as the occurrence of harmuf effects due to the financial crises, have caused that promoting pension reforms, in order to guarantee the financial stability, was an inevitable fact. Specifically, in 2011 a progressive increase in the statutory retirement age and the minimum number of years a worker needs to have contributed to the system in order to receive a full pension, among others agreed. More recently, in late 2013 a new index revaluation and regulates sustainability factor was adopted. Both reforms have reduced the excessive spending on pensions accounted for GDP, but failed to be sufficient to ensure the financial sustainability and adequacy of the pension system, so new revisions in the near future is expected.
