Resumen:   La presente asignatura ofrece una exposición de la historiografía española desde finales del siglo XVIII hasta el presente. Entiende el término "historia de la historiografía" en su más amplia acepción, esto es, la escritura de la historia pasada y presente, así como todos los factores políticos, sociales e intelectuales relacionados con ella. Esto incluye aspectos como: la condición social y profesional de los historiadores, sus actividades asociativas, sus instituciones, su concepto de historia nacional y sus ideas políticas, y las influencias extranjeras (incluido el papel del Hispanismo), el puesto de la historiografía española en la historiografía internacional y los aspectos memoriales. El programa queda dividido en los siguientes apartados: Los nuevos géneros de la historiografía en el siglo XIX y sus antecedentes: historia nacional, historia de la civilización e historia económica y social. El surgimiento de la historiografía profesional en España. Las influencias extranjeras y el papel del Hispanismo en el siglo XX. La situación actual.

Abstract: This subject offers an exposition of the development of Spanish historiography from the late eighteenth century to the present. The term "history of historiography" is to be understood in the widest sense of the word, that is, the writing of history along with all social, political and intellectual factors related to it. This includes the social and professional positions of historians, their association activities and institutions, their concept of national history and their political opinions, in addition to foreign influences (including Hispanism), the place of Spanish historians in international historiography, and the memory aspects. The program is in four parts: The new historical genres of the nineteenth century and their antecedents: nacional history, history of civilization and economic and social history. The emergence of professional historiography in Spain. The foreign influences and the role of Hispanism during the twentieth century. The current situation.
