    <abstract>The current Spanish educational system is stuck in a tug-of-war between the innovative theoretical approaches supporting CLT and the traditional procedures that still can be found in real classrooms. A starting point based on a flexible TBLT framework may help overwhelmed teachers to dare to innovate and to set the roles and procedures of methodologies that honestly promote communication in the teaching of English.</abstract>
