000047379 520__ $$aResumen: En el principio de este trabajo expondré tres de los ejes fundamentales en la filosofía de la ciencia del siglo XX (positivismo, Popper y Kuhn). Tras ello dispondremos de las herramientas necesarias para comprender el debate sobre la metodología y labores del historiador y filósofo de la ciencia. Veremos que tienen propósitos y enfoques distintos: el normativo y el descriptivo. Trataré de responder a las siguientes cuestiones: ¿Cómo se ha de estudiar el funcionamiento de la ciencia? ¿Cuál es la labor del historiador o filósofo de la ciencia? ¿Proponer normas, analizar críticamente o reconstruir la historia basados en ejemplos? ¿Cuáles son las posiciones del positivismo, Popper y Kuhn ante estas preguntas? ¿Cómo es el campo de la filosofía que estudia la ciencia? ¿Podría haber comunicación entre historia y filosofía? … Abstract: In the beginning of this paper I will discuss three fundamental axes in the philosophy of science of the twentieth century (positivism, Popper and Kuhn). Then we will have the necessary tools to understand the discussion on the methodology and endeavor of the historian and philosopher of science. We will see that they have different purposes and approaches: normativist and prescriptivist. I will aim to answer the following questions: How are we supposed to study how science works? What is the work of the historian or philosopher of science? Can we propose standards, critically analyze or reconstruct history based on examples? What are the positions of positivism, Popper and Kuhn in relation to these questions? How is the field of philosophy that studies the science? Could there be communication between history and philosophy?
