El primero de ellos, el surgimiento de las ideas de la Ilustración a lo largo de toda Europa, manifestado en los aspectos musicales, en la transición del Barroco al Clasicismo. Y por otro, con el hecho político de gran relevancia en la que se da la ascensión al poder de la nueva dinastía Borbónica. Mientras que en este segundo aspecto hay un resurgimiento del absolutismo como barrera a las nuevas ideas revolucionarias que recorren el continente, no lo es tanto en las influencias y transformación de los estilos musicales, donde la interdependencia, sobre todo con los gustos italianos y franceses es manifiesta, así como por la introducción de elementos nacionales. Es destacable el nuevo papel que cobran los músicos, ya no solo como criados de las élites sino como intérpretes, compositores y profesores en una nueva demanda cultural de una sociedad en transformación. SUMMARY Music in the Spanish Royal Court in the XVIII century coincides with two relevant historical events. The first of which is the spread of the Enlightenment throughout Europe, expounded on its musical aspects in the transition from Baroque to Classicism. The second one is the political event of special relevance which the ascension to power of the new Bourbon dynasty implied. Whereas this second aspect involves a resurgence of absolutism considered as a barrier to the new revolutionary ideas which go through the continent, it is not so regarding the influences and transformation of musical styles, where the interdependence, above all with the Italian and French tastes is evident, as it is the introduction of national elements.
