Abstract: RESUMEN El Alzheimer es una enfermedad que, actualmente, no tiene cura. Ésta, afecta tanto a la persona que la padece como a sus cuidadores, motivo por el cual se ha convertido en el tema central de muchas investigaciones. En este trabajo se investiga sobre los efectos que la música genera en estas personas, llegando a la conclusión de que presenta más efectos positivos que un tratamiento farmacológico, y que si se realizan de manera conjunta, se puede llegar a conseguir que tanto el enfermo como sus cuidadores tengan una mejor calidad de vida. ABSTRACT Alzheimer is a disease that does not have a cure yet. It affects both the patient and their caregivers, which is the reason why it has become the main topic of many researches. This study deals with the effects that music has on people who suffer Alzheimer’s disease and it came to the conclusion that it does have more positive effects than a pharmacological treatment, and that if both treatments are carried out simultaneously, the quality of life of both the person who suffers Alzheimer’s and their caregivers improve significantly.
