                       construction of social policy discourses and the
                       theoretical basis of Social Work. It determines the current
                       political, social and economic junctures and their
                       significance regarding practical professional intervention.
                       For that purpose, it raises a mixed analysis in order to
                       determine the coherence of professional practice concerning
                       the problems addressed, taking single-mother homes as an
                       example. Finally, some proposals are presented that intend
                       to reconsider certain Social Work perspectives, thus
                       improving the quality of intervention and public care.",
