Además esta asignatura presenta la peculiaridad de que ambas materias pertenecen a módulos diferentes dentro del Grado en Veterinaria: Epidemiología (Ciencias Clínicas y Sanidad Animal) y Bioestadística (Formación Básica Común). Tiene una carga docente de 6 ECTS (4 Epidemiología y 2 Bioestadística) y tiene carácter anual, impartiéndose durante el primer curso del Grado. Los contenidos de estas dos materias son la base para una correcta utilización del método científico en el contexto de las ciencias veterinarias, así como para permitir un adecuado conocimiento de las poblaciones animales y de las enfermedades que les afectan. En el caso de la materia Bioestadística se desarrollan específicamente las competencias definidas en la Orden ECI/333/2008 como Biometría y estadística aplicados a las ciencias veterinarias y Dinámica y demografía de la infección y la intoxicación, mientras que la materia Epidemiología las competencias desarrolladas son: Transmisión y mantenimiento de las enfermedades y métodos de estudio de las enfermedades en las poblaciones, Diagnóstico, Epidemiología y diagnóstico, Sistema de seguimiento y vigilancia, La investigación de brotes de toxi-infecciones alimentarias y Dinámica y demografía de la infección y la intoxicación. La asignatura utiliza una plataforma docente específicamente diseñada para estas materias (http://alp4eb.winepi.net/). $$b Brief presentation of the subject The subject Epidemiology and Biostatistics are of obligatory character and they is integrated by two matters given by professorship of two different areas: Epidemiology (Area of Animal Health) and Biostatistics (Area of Applied Mathematics. Also this subject presents the peculiarity of which both matters belong to different modules inside the Grade in Veterinarian: Epidemiology (Clinical Sciences and Animal Health) and Biostatistics (Common Basic training).
