Resumen: Breve presentación de la asignatura Asignatura de carácter obligatorio del módulo Cálculo Científico y simulación numérica. En ella se hace un estudio de los algoritmos para la resolución aproximada de problemas matemáticos que aparecen en álgebra lineal y análisis matemático. En particular, la resolución numérica de sistemas lineales, el cálculo aproximado de valores y vectores propios y la resolución de ecuaciones y sistemas no lineales. Se aborda también la implementación de los algoritmos estudiados en un lenguaje de programación.

Abstract: This course is aimed to introduce the students in the algorithms for the approximated solution of the mathematical problems that arise in linear algebra and mathematical analysis, from a theoretical as well as a practical point of view. More in particular, the numerical solution of linear systems, the approximated computation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix and the solution of nonlinear systems are included in the course.  The practical implementation of the studied algorithms in a scientific program language (Fortran and Python) is addressed.
