Resumen: Breve presentación de la asignatura En los anillos de enteros y de polinomios sobre un cuerpo se estudian los conceptos de elementos primo, irreducible, factorización, etc. En el curso se estudian estas propiedades en diversos anillos (anillos euclídeos, principales y factoriales), en particular en los anillos de polinomios sobre otro anillos. Terminamos introduciendo extensiones de cuerpos donde los polinomios tienen todas sus raíces. Se establecerán dos grupos para esta asignatura, uno de los cuales se impartirá en inglés. Superar la asignatura en dicha modalidad quedará reflejado en el Suplemento Europeo al Título. Además, los alumnos que superen 18 ECTS de asignaturas impartidas en inglés podrán convalidar los créditos de la asignatura (24900) Idioma Moderno Inglés B1.

Abstract: Short presentation of the course Prime and irreducible elements and the problem of factorization will be considered in the rings of integers and of polynomials over a field. These concepts and properties will be studied in several classes of commutative rings: euclidean domains, principal ideal domains and unique factorization domains). Modules over principal ideal domains will be considered briefly, with special emphasis on abelian groups. Finally, field extensions, mostly obtained as quotients of polynomial rings wil be introduced.   There will be two groups, according to the language: Spanish and English. Students taking the English option will have this reflected in the so called "Suplemento Europeo al Título".  Moreover, those students who pass at least 18ECTS by means of English options will get for free the credits of the course (24900): "Idioma Moderno Inglés B1.
