It is shown how the mixing of electromagnetic fields scattered by the slits from a weak beam at ¿ wavelength, with second-harmonic fields generated by a high-intensity 2¿ beam, creates a destructive interference of surface plasmons in one of the two possible directions of emission from the slits, while these are enhanced along the opposite direction. Our method enables spectrally broadband excitation and thus unidirectional launching of SPP pulses as short as ~20 fs, all-optically controlled. Based on these findings, an ultranarrow bandwidth surface plasmon frequency comb is designed.</dc:description><dc:date>2018</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/74970</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1103/PhysRevB.98.041407</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/74970</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:74970</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/MAT2017-88358-C3-2-R</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>Physical Review B 98, 4 (2018), 041407(R)[5 pp]</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>by-nc</dc:rights><dc:rights>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/es/</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
