Para ello se parte del análisis de la escatología egipcia, así como de los ritos y las creencias que tenían en torno a la muerte, atendiendo a las fuentes clásicas y a la historiografía moderna, y también a los avances tecnológicos de las últimas décadas han ayudado a ampliar la información ya existente. Sobre esas bases, es posible reconstruir los procesos y las técnicas que se usaron los egipcios para el embalsamamiento y la momificación. ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to offer an approximation, through a bibliographical synthesis, to the ritual process of mummification, and its transformation through time, taking into account the analysis of the Egyptian eschatology, as well as the rites and beliefs related to death according to the Classical sources and modern historiography, but also to the technological advances of the last decades. On these basis, we can reconstruct the embalming processes and the techniques used by ancient Egyptians.
