The average frequency of the emitted photon is different from the frequency for single-photon resonant scattering, which perfectly matches the bare frequency of the excited state of the impurity. We study how the energy of the excited state of the impurity influences the spatial profile of the emitted photon. The farther the energy is from the middle of the photonic band, the farther the wave packet is from the causal limit. In particular, if the energy lies in the middle of the band, the wave packet is localized around the causal limit. Besides, the occupation of the excited state of the impurity presents a rich dynamics: it shows an exponential decay up to intermediate times, this is followed by a power-law tail in the long-time regime, and it finally reaches an oscillatory stationary regime. Finally, we show that this phenomenology is robust under the presence of losses, both in the impurity and in the cavities. 000075608 536__ $$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/MAT2014-53432-C5-1-R$$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/FIS2015-70856-P$$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/FIS2014-55867-P$$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/EC/FP7/258191/EU/Participative Research labOratory for Multimedia and Multilingual Information Systems Evaluation/PROMISE$$9info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/DGA/FENOL-GROUP 000075608 540__ $$9info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess$$aAll rights reserved$$uhttp://www.europeana.eu/rights/rr-f/ 000075608 590__ $$a2.909$$b2017 000075608 591__ $$aOPTICS$$b23 / 94 = 0.245$$c2017$$dQ1$$eT1 000075608 591__ $$aPHYSICS, ATOMIC, MOLECULAR & CHEMICAL$$b12 / 36 = 0.333$$c2017$$dQ2$$eT2 000075608 655_4 $$ainfo:eu-repo/semantics/article$$vinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion 000075608 700__ $$0(orcid)0000-0003-4478-1948$$aZueco, D.$$uUniversidad de Zaragoza 000075608 700__ $$0(orcid)0000-0001-9273-8165$$aMartín-Moreno, L.$$uUniversidad de Zaragoza 000075608 700__ $$aGarcía-Ripoll, J.J. 000075608 7102_ $$12003$$2395$$aUniversidad de Zaragoza$$bDpto.
