in the models of production of the last decades have
resulted the introduction of working shift systems ensuring
continued 24 hours services. These shifts are part of the
working conditions and have a direct impact on health. The
population health and in particular nursing professionals
are one of the groups most affected by this system, which
has an impact on safety and the quality of care of
patients. OBJECTIVE: analyze the impact having rotating
shifts and night on the health of nurses of the Hospital
General San Jorge de Huesca. METHOD: observational,
descriptive cross-sectional study on a sample of 120 the
San Jorge Huesca General Hospital nursing professionals who

with a minimum stay of two years in rotating or fixed
shift. Data were collected through questionnaire ISTAS 21
(CoPsoQ), medium version, adapted and validated to the
Spanish of the questionnaire of Copenhagen. The data were
processed using the statistical program SPSS V.22.0
RESULTS: 120 completed questionnaires were collected. The
response rate was 100%. The distribution by sex
predominated women (87.9%). The professionals of the
                       rotating morning/afternoon/evening (MTN) presented the
worst scores for all dimensions studied against the morning
shift (M) that obtained the most favorable. Except in
dimensions insecurity, emotional demands, influence and
possibility of developing the rest of the studied
dimensions indicated associations with the rotating MTN.
The clarity of role dimension was the worst rated, the
three groups studied obtained an unfavorable score.
CONCLUSIONS: Rotary shift nursing professionals are exposed
to working conditions that have more negative effects on
your health. The rotating which includes night especially
influences negatively on health, work/family reconciliation
and the perception of psychosocial risks. KEY WORDS: risks
