The case of the Central-Eastern Pre-Pyrenean lacustrine cherts and their presence in the Magdalenian of NE Iberia</dc:title><dc:identifier>ART-2017-98597</dc:identifier><dc:description>The geochemical characterization of several lacustrine chert formations outcropping in the Central-Eastern Pre-Pyrenean area is presented. Four geological formations were considered: one Upper Cretaceous (Tremp formation), two Oligocene (Castelltallat and Tartareu-Alberola formations) and one Miocene (Aragonian limestones formation). Furthermore, lacustrine cherts appearing in the Magdalenian levels of Forcas I and Cova Alonsé (Huesca, Spain) were also considered. Analyses were done using energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (ED-XRF) and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). Results show different geochemical features between formations, in some cases also between outcrops, concerning major, minor and trace elements. Archaeological samples from Cova Alonsé and Forcas I fit in some of the established groups, being the dispersion area slightly different between sites. Consequently, results determine the presence of diversified lithic procurement strategies.</dc:description><dc:date>2017</dc:date><dc:source>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/79061</dc:source><dc:doi>10.1016/j.jasrep.2017.03.037</dc:doi><dc:identifier>http://zaguan.unizar.es/record/79061</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>oai:zaguan.unizar.es:79061</dc:identifier><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/RYC-2013-12613</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/ES/MINECO/HAR2014-59042-P</dc:relation><dc:relation>info:eu-repo/grantAgreement/EC/FP7/609102/EU/PRES Towards International Gain of Excellence/PRESTIGE</dc:relation><dc:identifier.citation>Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports 13 (2017), 88-98</dc:identifier.citation><dc:rights>by-nc-nd</dc:rights><dc:rights>http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/</dc:rights><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights></dc:dc>
