000079619 5203_ $$aEl presente artículo aborda el Atlas de fotografías, collages y bocetos de Gerhard Richter desde las lógicas de la estética de archivo. Para ello, se estudia la tradición de los atlas en su vertiente documental y cómo su producción artística tiene que ver con la multiplicidad de lecturas, de discontinuidades y fragmentos de la sociedad de su tiempo. Después se analiza el Atlas de Richter en tanto que archivo, en sentido amplio, así como las funciones que desarrolla desde este entendimiento. En tercer lugar, se centra el discurso en el Bilderatlas Mnemosyne de Aby Warburg y la conexión que se establece entre éste y el de Richter, con sus semejanzas y diferencias. Para, en último lugar, reflexionar en términos icónicos sobre la propia naturaleza del atlas como archivo mnemónico: una obra documental sobre lo icónico que fuerza la mirada de quien la contempla y lo sumerge en la infinitud de sus múltiples lecturas.
The present article approaches the Atlas of photographs, collages and sketches of Gerhard Richter from the logics of archival aesthetics. For this, the tradition of the atlases is studied in its documentary aspect and how its artistic production has to do with the multiplicity of readings, discontinuities and fragments of the society of its time. Then the Richter Atlas is analyzed as a file, in a broad sense, as well as the functions it develops from this understanding. In the third place, the discourse focuses on the bilderatlas Mnemosyne by Aby Warburg and the connection established between it and that of Richter, with its similarities and differences. To, finally, reflect in iconic terms, on the very nature of the atlas as a mnemonic archive. A documentary work about the iconic that forces the gaze of those who contemplate it and immerses it in the infinity of its multiple readings.
