000079835 5203_ $$aEl tema de investigación del presente trabajo se acerca a la admiración y reciprocidad que se tiene entre la arquitectura oriental y occidental. Por este motivo vamos analizar las relaciones e intercambios que se han establecido entre Japón y España, a través de dos maestros de la arquitectura contemporánea como son: Tadao Ando y Alberto Campo Baeza, y el uso del hormigón y de la luz en sus obras. En este tipo de arquitectura, más que de suspensión deberíamos hablar de detención del tiempo. Y más que de emoción, entonces deberíamos hablar de ataraxia: aquella quietud absoluta del alma que, según los epicúreos, es la cualidad de los dioses y el ideal del sabio.

The topic of research of the present work approaches the admiration and reciprocity that is had between the oriental and western architecture. For this motive we want to analyze the relations and exchanges that have been established between Japan and Spain, across two teachers of the contemporary architecture as they are: Tadao Ando and Alberto Campo Baeza, and the use of the concrete and of the light in theirs works. In this type of architecture, more that of suspension we should speak about detention of the time. And more that of emotion, then we should speak of ataraxia: that absolute quietude of the soul that, according to the epicureans, is the quality of the gods and the ideal one of the wise person.
