“Intervención desde los Servicios Sociales de Base en Violencia de Género: Estudio de caso de las Comarcas de los Monegros y del Bajo Aragón”.

Notas: At present, we are faced with many cases of gender violence, and it is necessary to intervene when this happen, because it is a very sensitive issue. The intervention of social workers and a multidisciplinary team is essential to confront with such cases of violence. The regulation of Law 4/2007, of March 22, on the Prevention and Integral Protection of Women Victims of Violence in Aragón is key. Although it does not have enough scope for the protection of victims, it is necessary to make many changes and improvements. We have a series of protocols and action guidelines to support this intervention. The existence of the Aragon’s Institute for Women is also fundamental. Another point to consider when we approach this problem, it is the lack of great authors who talk about gender violence from social work. We can only approach the term from very technical and impractical way. On the other hand, in the rural area there are disadvantages, because they do not have so many resources at their disposal to carry out a correct approach, but with a good performance of the professionals of the social services, the different cases can be solved successfully.
