Resumen: The high concentration of industrial pig farms in several areas of Aragon is causing, among other problems, serious nitrate polution of soil and groundwater. Current regulations require farmers to reduce the volume of manure and slurry, as well as nitrogen and other nutrients generated in farms. In addition, reserchs have pointed the value of animal slurry as a resource to be considered in a circular bioeconomy scheme, and among other, they propose the posibility of exporting slurry outside areas with a high livestock density.
