Although Spain has had strong relations with the African diaspora in its colonial period, this past has been forgotten. These relations have been especially strong with Equatorial Guinea, its only territory in black Africa that became a Spanish province. Due to these relations, and since the middle of the last century, the arrival and settlement of migrants of African descent has been remarkable in the Spanish territory. However, Afro-descendants and AfroSpaniards are still perceived as outsiders and unknown. Representation in all public and social spheres must be in keeping with the reality of Spanish streets: plural and diverse. A pesar de que España ha tenido fuertes relaciones con la diáspora africana en su época colonial, este pasado ha sido olvidado. Estas relaciones han sido especialmente sólidas con Guinea Ecuatorial, su único territorio en el África negra, que llegó a ser provincia española. Debido a estas relaciones, y desde mitad del siglo pasado, la llegada y asentamiento de personas migrantes afrodescendientes ha sido notable en el territorio español. Sin embargo, los afrodescendientes y los afroespañoles siguen siendo percibidos como ajenos y desconocidos. La representación en todos los ámbitos públicos y sociales debe ser acorde a la realidad de las calles españolas: plurales y diversas.
