000094731 500__ $$aABSTRACT The Roman religion is articulated around the cultus deorum, the worship of the gods. When these are in a state of balance with Roman society, the evolution of events is propitius for Rome. The impiety breaks the cosmic order and the pax deorum, the peace with the gods, and to restore it, it must be identified and expiated. For this, different ceremonies and rites are used to restore the cosmic order. With this work I intend to carry out an analysis religions concept of the pax deorum, how it can be broken and what solutions are applied to restore the balance and the good relationship with the gods, focusing on to the violence present in the Roman religion and concept of impiety, its within a chronological framework that covers from the Middle Republic to the establishment of the Principate (III-I centuries B.C.).

000094731 520__ $$aLa religión romana se articula en torno al cultus deorum, el culto a los dioses. Cuando éstos se encuentran en un estado de equilibrio con la sociedad romana, el devenir de los acontecimientos es propicio para Roma. La impiedad quiebra el orden cósmico y rompe la pax deorum, la paz con los dioses, y para restablecerla ésta ha de ser identificada y expiada. Para ello se emplean diferentes ceremonias y ritos que restauran el orden cósmico. Con este trabajo pretendo realizar un análisis del pax deorum, cómo se puede quebrar y qué soluciones se aplican para restablecer el equilibrio con los dioses, concediendo especial importancia a la violencia presente en la religión romana y en el concepto de impiedad, en un marco cronológico que abarca desde la República Media hasta la instauración del Principado (siglos III-I a.C.).<br /><br />
