En el texto se contextualiza la obra, se explica su técnica, se revelan los materiales que la conforman y se atribuye al artista veneciano Ambrosio Mariesque, activo en tierras aragonesas al menos entre 1688 y 1709.
 This article presents the historical-artistic study and the conclusions of the petrological analysis of the scagliola fragment of the late 17th century kept at the Cen- tro de Estudios Borjanos of the Institution “Fernando el Católico” and from the church of San Miguel de Borja (Zaragoza, Spain). In this study the mentioned artwork is con- textualized, its technique is explained and the materials that comprise it are revealed.
